The Global Protection Cluster is pleased to invite you to the second session of the GPC 2026 Protection Series. The Protection Series is a public, protection practitioner-driven learning initiative designed to strengthen protection practice across the humanitarian system.
Throughout 2026, protection partners across the globe will be invited to join webinars that are provided by protection actors showcasing tools, guidance and research that aim to improve protection outcomes in humanitarian action. This series will remind us of existing best practice, and bring emerging approaches and evolving protection issues to the attention of the wider protection network.
In this second event, Joelle Rizk from the ICRC will present the Chapter 8 of the revised Professional Standards for Protection Work (PSPW) – A Protection Approach to Digital Risk and Digital Technologies. The session will take place virtually on Wednesday 18 March, 3:00 – 4:00pm Geneva time.
Digital technologies are pivotal in how emergencies, armed conflict and other situations of violence unfold and how protection actors respond to them. Protection organizations are increasingly leveraging the opportunities provided by digital technology to strengthen the effectiveness, efficiency, accountability and transparency of their protection work. However, these opportunities are accompanied by digital risks arising from the broader operating environment and digitalization.
This event is public and open to all.
