Access to life-saving assistance is essential for vulnerable populations, including children, in armed conflict and complex emergencies. However, negotiating and maintaining access in these challenging contexts pose significant obstacles.
In the framework of the UN ECOSOC Humanitarian Affairs Segment (HAS), the Centre of Competence on Humanitarian Negotiation and Save the Children are hosting a side event entitled “Ensuring Access that Protects Children: Collaborating with Communities for Effective Humanitarian Action”
This event aims to explore successful approaches for negotiating humanitarian access, with a special focus on protecting children. It will feature insights from humanitarian negotiations and child rights experts from local, national and international organisations, Member States, and children themselves.
