Protection Conversation: Optimizing Armed Actor Engagement for Protection Outcomes

The Global Protection Cluster is pleased to be hosting the fifth of a series of public events, entitled the ‘Protection Conversation Series’, aimed at advancing shared discussions and reflection with protection allies on key trends and priorities, innovative approaches, and scalable solutions to some of the most pressing protection risks facing crisis-affected communities around the world.

This fifth Protection Conversation will focus on ‘Optimizing Armed Actor Engagement for Protection Outcomes’ and will take place virtually on 18 November from 14:00-15:30 CET (8:00-9:30 EST). The session is organized by InterAction and will introduce the training module Optimizing Armed Actor Engagement for Protection Outcomes, designed specifically to support further implementation of the IASC Centrality of Protection by exploring how humanitarian civil-military actors can be more effectively utilized in achieving protection outcomes. The session will provide a preview of the tool’s content and function.

This Protection Discussion aims to collectively explore the opportunities that this tool provides for Protection Clusters and how it can be rolled out in participants’ contexts.
