Marie joined the GPC in July 2021 to head the Advocacy and Communication Pillar, after two years spent in Mali as the Protection Cluster Coordinator. Previously Marie was deployed to the GPC from the IRC, in a capacity of Coordinator of the GPC Task Team on Protection Mainstreaming, where she led the development of the Protection Mainstreaming Toolkit, providing guidance and support to field clusters in Yemen, Myanmar, Libya, South Sudan, DRC and Somalia. She also conducted a scoping study on the role of local actors in coordination mechanisms, identifying trends, good practices and lessons on advancing the localisation agenda. Prior to this role, she worked as a Protection Program Manager with DRC and the French Red Cross in complex humanitarian settings (Myanmar, Iraq, Haiti), implementing protection programming in the areas of legal assistance, psychosocial support and case management. She holds a master’s degree in International Law from the Graduate Institute of Geneva, with a specialisation in Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law, and a master’s degree in International Relations from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques d’Aix-en-Provence.
