GPC 2026 Protection Series - Cash for Protection: Key Considerations for Stand-Alone and Integrated Programming

In this event, Julia Grasset and Roberta Gadler co-coordinators of the GPC Task Team on Cash for Protection (TTC4P) will provide a refresher on the Key Considerations: Cash for Protection in Specialised/Stand-Alone Protection Programming and introduce the main approaches and operational elements of the draft guidance on Cash for Protection in Integrated Programming, currently field-tested in humanitarian operations. The session will take place virtually on Wednesday 3 June, 2:00 – 3:30pm Geneva time

Cash and Voucher Assistance (CVA) is increasingly being used across humanitarian responses to support protection outcomes and reduce protection risks. Protection actors are increasingly integrating cash assistance within specialised protection programming and broader integrated humanitarian responses. However, protection actors continue to face operational questions relating to Cash for Protection (C4P) targeting, transfer design, coordination, monitoring and risk mitigation. This session will provide a concise overview of the key elements of C4P in both stand-alone protection and integrated programming.

This event is part of the GPC 2026 Protection Series. Partners interested in presenting tools, guidance, research, or emerging protection topics as part of the 2026 Protection Series are encouraged to get in touch with [email protected] for more information.
