This Policy serves as an update to the 1999 IASC Policy Paper on the Protection of Internally Displaced Persons (henceforth, “1999 IDP Protection Policy”), which was endorsed following the adoption of the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement in 1998 (henceforth “Guiding Principles”).
