Protection Risks: Explanatory Note

The Protection Risks: Explanatory note provides guidance on the use of the 15 protection risks monitored by the Global Protection Cluster. The document contains the standard definitions developed by the Global Protection Cluster and AoRs, illustrating:

  • What acts or situations constitute the presence of the risk?
  • What factors must be identified for monitoring?
  • What information & data can illustrate the presence of the risk?

It additionally provides TIPS on how to adapt the definitions in Protection Analysis Updates to ensure they are contextually-relevant and align with the general terminology of protection risks.
