Presentation: Legal Aid in Libya (Legal Aid and Access to Justice in Crisis Settings)
On the 13th June, the GPC Task Team on Law and Policy and the Rule of Law and Democracy team in DG NEAR organized a joint Brown Bag Lunch on ‘Legal aid and access to justice in crisis settings’ project. Experts from the GPC TTLP team and partner organizations presented the knowledge tools and reports produced throughout the life of the project with representatives from ECHO and EU, both at HQ and field levels. Colleagues from Ukraine and Libya shared their experiences around joint and coordinated efforts to better understand the legal aid and access to justice landscape in the two complex crisis settings, including through the LAAF toolkit. An enriching discussion on the lessons learnt and the process ahead highlighted the need for continued exchange and reflection between development, humanitarian, peace, human rights actors and donors.
