Burkina Faso

Burkina Faso is facing the worst humanitarian crisis in its history. In 2023, nearly one in 10 people in Burkina Faso had been displaced by conflict. The impact of the multidimensional crisis and political instability on the most vulnerable people has deepened since the beginning of 2023, including for some 840,000 people living in areas cut off from the rest of the country by non-State armed groups, whose access to basic commodities and services, fields and grazing areas and assistance is therefore increasingly limited. The violence affects more than 11 of the country's 13 regions, mainly affecting civilians, and particularly women and children. Humanitarian access continues to be severely constrained in several areas, including the Sahel, East, North and Center North regions.
